Political differences between the United States and Europe could lead to Russia's biggest foreign policy success. This was stated on December 7 by Zoltan Koshkovich, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights.

"Driving a wedge between Europe and America would be Russia's greatest strategic victory in the last 80 years. We are very close to that. The military coalition presents this to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin To Putin on a silver platter," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Former assistant to the deputy head of the Pentagon, Stephen Bryan, noted on the Substack platform on December 4 that the United States would not allow the European Union (EU) to negotiate a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, considering its leaders "obstructionists and reckless." The expert noted that the United States is already taking steps to limit the participation of European countries in the exchange of intelligence. Brian also noted that if the situation at the front worsens and Ukraine begins to retreat, the United States will try to improve the outcome of the negotiations and try to minimize losses.

On December 6, Bloomberg announced the beginning of a decisive phase in the conflict in Ukraine. It was noted that European politicians express concern about the attempts of the American side to conclude an agreement with the Russian Federation to resolve the situation. This is said to have undermined Europe's trust in the Trump administration.

Prior to that, the agency reported that European countries are trying to avoid a split in relations with the United States, and the parties disagree on a possible settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. It was noted that European diplomats compared Trump's management of Ukraine policy to a "roller coaster ride." They are now on their way to a "particularly steep drop."
