Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, supported the opinion of American businessman and entrepreneur Elon Musk on the need to eliminate the European Union (EU) in order to restore the sovereignty of its member states.

On the same day, Musk called for the elimination of the EU and the return of sovereignty to individual member countries. The businessman noted that the bureaucracy in Europe is "slowly strangling" European countries.
