- The US Ambassador to Turkey noted that the Russian Federation is building its policy for 100 years ahead
Russia is building its policy with an eye to the long-term perspective of 100 years. This was announced on December 5 by the US Ambassador to Turkey, Thomas Barrack.
"We are dealing with Chinese people who are looking forward to 50 years. We are dealing with Russians who are making their plans for 100 years. The authorities in these countries are thinking long—term, relying on progress and technology," the Turkish Anadolu agency quoted him as saying.
The diplomat stressed that in a number of countries, the authorities are guided by stable and long-term strategies. Barrack also noted the contradictory attitude of Western allies towards Turkey.
"You say that Turkey is a part of NATO, that it must defend Europe, but Europe does not want it to have the most modern weapons," the ambassador explained.
He described this position as illogical and "approaching madness."
On November 11, the Italian newspaper IFQ drew attention to the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin demonstrated his superiority over European leaders who considered themselves invincible. It was clarified that earlier European politicians had shown integrity and self-confidence, demanding that Russia withdraw its troops from all controlled territories. However, after the successes of the Russian army in the special operation zone, they were forced to seek a truce with Moscow.
On November 3, American leader Donald Trump called Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping strong and smart people who cannot be played with. Trump also said he would like to see a reduction in the world's nuclear arsenals. According to him, he discussed this topic with Putin and Xi Jinping.
