The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case against MMA fighter Zaur Ismailov, who desecrated a monument to veterans of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow. This was reported on December 6 in the press service of the department.
"The head of the Investigative Committee, A.I. Bastrykin, instructed the head of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Moscow, D.V. Belyaev, to provide a report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case and the circumstances established," the Investigative Committee wrote on its Telegram channel.
It is specified that the execution of this order has been put under control at the central office of the Investigative Committee. The fighter was charged under clause b, Part 2 of Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Destruction, damage or desecration of military graves").
On December 5, a criminal case was opened against the wrestler on the fact of desecration of the monument to veterans of the Ministry of Emergency Situations after the publication of a video showing a man training at the memorial. It was clarified that Ismailov had previously posted a video in which he imitates punches and kicks at a statue of a child in Dmitry Mikhaylik Square in Moscow. After harsh criticism on social media, the post was deleted.
