Roskomnadzor announced the restriction of Facetime

Roksomnadzor (RCN) has begun to restrict the operation of Facetime, a video calling service on Apple devices. This was reported on December 4 by Gazeta.Ru" with reference to the press service of the department.

The RCN explained that the restrictions are imposed for the safety of citizens. According to the agency, Facetime is used by terrorist organizations to recruit perpetrators of terrorist attacks. It is also used by fraudsters to deceive Russians.

"In this regard, Roskomnadzor is introducing restrictive measures against Facetime," the agency stressed.

The publication notes that prior to this, the RCN had not reported the lock, although users have been complaining about application failures since September 2025.
