Russia does not want to return to the Group of eight (G8). This was stated on December 4 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with the Indian channel India Today.

"We don't want to be part of the G8," he replied to a journalist's question about the proposal of US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to return to the G8.
