Moldova approves decision to close the Russian House in Chisinau

Moldova has denounced the agreement with Russia on the functioning of the Russian House located in Chisinau. This was announced on December 3 in a resolution of the Parliament of the republic on the website.

It is noted that this initiative was approved by the President of the Republic, Maya Sandu. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova has also been instructed to inform the Russian side about the unilateral withdrawal of the republic from the treaty.

The country's authorities intend to denounce the bilateral agreement on the basis of which this cultural center operates.

On November 12, the Moldovan parliament also denounced the agreement on the functioning of the Russian House in Chisinau. The decision was adopted in the final, second reading, 57 deputies voted for it. On November 5, the Moldovan government approved a bill to denounce the agreement on the functioning of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC, Russian House).
