- In Russia, business interest in holding New Year's corporate parties has decreased by 30%.
Business interest in holding New Year's corporate holidays in Russia decreased by 30% compared to 2024. This was reported by Kommersant on December 3, citing data from event agencies.
Alexander Pilia, Creative Director of the Aeroclub Tour MICE agency, noted that not only are budgets being cut, but the number of requests for organizing events is also decreasing. According to him, business problems are related to lack of funds and economic uncertainty.
In addition, Olga Stepanenko, MICE Director of IBC Corporate Travel agency, confirmed that many clients have run out of budgets, and expenses are also decreasing for all types of business events, including training, exhibitions and conferences. This trend has particularly affected state-owned companies, chemical and biological enterprises and pharmaceutical companies.
In turn, Lilia Fedorova, CEO of the Avantage Event Project, spoke about the increase in the number of requests for corporate events in January, which reduces costs by more than 30%. In addition, the number of guests at events is decreasing.
Fedorova also noted that companies have begun to return to the Soviet format of skits, when the entertainment program is prepared by the employees themselves.
Earlier, on December 1, family psychologist Daria Salnikova told how to survive the New Year's rush and celebrate the holiday happy. She noted that a calm December begins with reasonable planning: you should not postpone everything for the last ten days, and now you can do something that saves time and nerves, for example, order gifts without fuss and queues.
