Large families in Russia are entitled to a discount of at least 30% on housing and communal services. This was announced on December 3 by Sergey Kolunov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"Large families can receive a discount on housing and communal services, the amount of which is set by the regional authorities. Each region has its own discount rate, but the minimum amount is set by federal law and is 30%," TASS quoted him as saying.

Kolunov said that depending on the region, the discount may increase. So, in the Moscow region, benefits for large families reach 50%, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".

According to the parliamentarian, the discount is calculated automatically after receiving the status of a large family. In addition, in many regions, exemption from maintenance fees is provided in whole or in part. Large families can also receive compensation for capital repair contributions, subsidies, and benefits covering utility costs.

In addition, Kolunov said that in a number of regions of the country there are programs for preferential or free connection to public utilities, as well as support for repairs and improvement of housing conditions.
