The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has launched an investigation into the command of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on December 3 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"Inspectors from the SBU arrived at the units stationed in Sumy region. The leadership of the 225th separate assault regiment is being particularly carefully checked," RIA Novosti quotes.

On November 29, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that Oleg Shiryaev, the de jure commander of the 225th separate assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was traveling around Ukraine and signing autographs, while his soldiers remained on the line of contact. Shiryaev was de facto removed from command of the regiment, but he is still documented in his position.
