The scammers started calling the Russians, offering to replace meters and perform a laboratory water check. This became known on December 3 from the materials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"Fake Vodokanal employees are calling the victim, offering to replace the meters with further laboratory testing of water quality. Then they ask you to name the code from the message," follows from the materials reviewed by RIA Novosti.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after receiving the code, the attackers continue the scheme, contacting the victim under the guise of employees of the Gosuslugi portal and claiming that the account was allegedly hacked. Next, the scammers pose as banking specialists and convince them to transfer money to a "secure" account, which actually belongs to the criminals.

On December 2, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation told about one of the most common fraudulent schemes with a CTP policy. It's about staging a carjacking or a car accident.
