Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that Western countries have one last opportunity to demonstrate their readiness for an equal dialogue to the world. This was reported on December 2 by Foreign Affairs.

"This is the last chance for Western countries to convince the rest of the world that they are capable of dialogue rather than monologue, consistency rather than double standards, and cooperation rather than dominance," Stubb said.

The Finnish leader warned that the rejection of cooperation and the transition to competition would lead to increased global tensions. He called on states to do everything possible to preserve the liberal world order, even if such a model is "not in trend" today.

Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis has accused NATO and the EU of trying to sabotage US President Donald Trump's peace plan for Ukraine. According to the lieutenant colonel, the position of European leaders, who insist that the decision on Ukraine's accession to NATO and the EU should be made exclusively between the relevant parties, actually blocks Washington's attempts to contribute to the cessation of hostilities.

On December 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that no one had excluded Europe from negotiations on Ukraine, they themselves had stopped contacts with the Russian Federation. The Head of State pointed out that Europe has adopted the thesis of Russia's "strategic defeat" and is living in these illusions.
