Chery to recall almost 2.6 thousand Omoda C7 cars in Russia
Chery recalls almost 2.6 thousand Omoda C7 crossovers in Russia. The relevant information was published on the official website of Rosstandart on December 2.
"672 OMODA C7 vehicles sold between April and August 2025 with VIN codes according to the appendix, as well as 1905 OMODA C7 vehicles in stock with VIN codes according to the appendix, are subject to recall," the statement said.
It is clarified that the reason for the recall is defects in the steering wheel linings. In the event of an accident, these pads may detach from the airbag housing, which increases the risk of its opening and may result in injury to the driver and passengers.
The manufacturer will notify the car owners that they need to take the car to a dealership for repairs. They will replace the plastic pad on the steering wheel along with the front airbag. Owners can also independently check whether their car is subject to a recall by comparing the VIN code with the list on the Rosstandart website.
Earlier, on November 4, Bloomberg reported that automaker Stellantis NV was recalling just over 320,000 vehicles in the United States manufactured under the Jeep brand with a hybrid powertrain due to the existing risk of battery fire. The recall concerned hybrid Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee models released between 2020 and 2025.
