The West warned about the consequences of a preemptive NATO strike on Russia
A preemptive NATO strike on Russia would lead to a nuclear war. This statement was made on December 1 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish National Conservative Freedom Alliance party.
"Only the sick can consider the possibility of an attack on Russia and still call it "defensive measures," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Mema also called on Western countries to stop spreading dangerous lies that Russia is allegedly planning to attack European states and stressed that only "sick people" can bring the current situation to a nuclear escalation.
Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, head of the alliance's military committee, said on November 30 that the NATO bloc was discussing the possibility of preemptive strikes as an aggressive "response" to Russia's actions. According to him, discussing such a situation is not "the usual way of thinking or behaving" in NATO. According to him, such a step on the part of the alliance could be considered a "defensive action."
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in turn, called Dragone's statement about pre-emptive strikes against Russia an extremely irresponsible step. She also noted that the NATO representative's statement seemed to be a deliberate attempt to undermine efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
