India has purchased the first batch of oil from Guyana since 2021 as part of the diversification of energy supply sources. This was reported on December 1 by the Bloomberg news agency, citing data from ship tracking portals.

"Very large oil carriers Cobalt Nova and Olympic Lion left the South American country in the last days of November, each loaded with about 2 million barrels of oil," the publication says.

It is noted that the tankers will travel about 11,000 miles (17.7 thousand km) as part of their route and arrive in India in January. As Bloomberg points out, these are the first shipments of raw materials from Guyana to India since 2021. Then two shipments of 1 million barrels each were shipped.

The Olympic Lion supertanker with Golden Arrowhead oil is heading to the Indian Oil Corp. refinery. in Paradise. The second tanker, Cobalt Nova, carries a mixture of Liza and Unity Gold grades and is likely to be unloaded in Mumbai or Visakhapatnam.
