The attack by Ukrainian drones on the facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) is an egregious case due to the international importance of the infrastructure. This statement was made at a briefing by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"In this case [the attack on the CPC by Ukrainian drones] is an egregious case, since we are talking about an object of international importance and with international participation," Peskov said.

Commenting on the incident, the Kremlin representative stressed that attacks on such critical infrastructure are unacceptable and undermine global energy stability. Peskov also noted that Russian law enforcement agencies are taking measures to protect infrastructure facilities.

Earlier, on November 28, the Turkish Maritime Administration reported that the Gambian-flagged tanker Virat was attacked in the Black Sea 56 km off the coast of Turkey, but the crew was not injured. The next day, the Turkish General Directorate of Maritime Affairs informed Izvestia that the Virat tanker had suffered another damage.

On the same day, a fire broke out in the Black Sea off the Turkish coast on the tanker Kairos, which was traveling without cargo. The incident occurred at a distance of 45 km from the coast of Turkey. According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic, the possible cause of the fire was external interference.

On November 29, one of the CPC berths was damaged as a result of a Ukrainian attack. Because of this, loading and other operations at the terminal were stopped, and tankers were diverted outside the CPC water area. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan urgently activated a plan to redirect oil to alternative routes. The Kazakh Foreign Ministry protested the incident.

Later, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Kiev was trying to disrupt peace talks with terrorist attacks in the Black Sea. The diplomat added that the same forces that had previously disrupted negotiations to resolve the crisis were involved in committing terrorist attacks on tankers.
