The Interior Ministry reported on the liquidation of the technical center of fraudsters calling from Ukraine

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg, together with the Federal Security Service for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, stopped the activities of a technical center for telephone fraudsters, which made up to 30,000 calls a day from the territory of Ukraine to deceive Russians. This was announced on December 1 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.

"The liquidation of the technical center for telephone fraud allowed blocking 30,000 daily calls coming from the territory of Ukraine," the report says.

According to the agency, the police detained two suspects involved in organizing the work of foreign fraudulent call centers. One of them turned out to be a St. Petersburg man who colluded with foreign curators, and his accomplice from the Samara region helped create technical centers in St. Petersburg and Tolyatti. These centers provided mass calls to Russians and supported the operation of criminal terminals. For participating in the scheme, the attackers received weekly payments in cryptocurrency.

During the searches, the security forces seized 18 GSM gateways, over 700 SIM cards from various operators, computer equipment and communications equipment. Criminal cases have been initiated against the defendants under articles on fraud and illegal use of subscriber terminals for traffic access or a virtual telephone exchange.

The investigation is investigating their involvement in 24 episodes of fraud in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region and a number of other regions, including Yaroslavl, Voronezh, Tomsk and Rostov regions, Perm, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, as well as Buryatia.
