The State Duma recalled the non-requirement of the 13th salary in Russia
The 13th salary is not included in the employer's mandatory payments. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, recalled this on November 30.
According to her, the decision to charge an annual bonus remains solely within the competence of the employer and may be related to exceeding the planned targets of the enterprise. At the same time, the name "13th salary" has become fixed as a household designation for bonuses based on the results of work for the year.
"According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, there is no such thing as a 13th salary," she said in an interview withLenta.Ru ".
As Bessarab stressed, the idea of making such a payment mandatory is unacceptable, since budget organizations will not be able to provide it. In the commercial sector, the MP believes, the size and availability of bonuses should be determined by market conditions, not by the legislator.
Earlier, on November 19, Bessarab told Izvestia that before the New Year holidays, employees would receive their pay at the end of December for both January and December. Payments will be made no later than December 30 of the current year.
