In the Vologda Region, 441 alcohol markets have closed or changed their format. This was announced on November 25 by Governor Georgy Filimonov.
"There were 610 alcohol markets in the region, of which 441 stores closed, stopped selling alcohol or changed their name and assortment," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Filimonov noted that 97 out of 118 outlets in Vologda either closed or stopped selling alcohol. In Cherepovets, 246 out of 265 alcohol markets were closed, changed their format or refused to sell alcoholic beverages.
In addition, over the past week, 21 stores of the Severny Gradus chain have changed their assortment and name. Also, 41 points remain under surveillance in Vologda and Cherepovets.
Filimonov announced on October 9 that additional restrictions on the retail sale of alcohol are planned to be introduced in the region from March 1, 2026. They will be connected to premises in apartment buildings, catering points. For entrepreneurs who consider it economically impractical to continue working in such conditions, a business change to grocery stores within walking distance will be proposed.
