The Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced the arrival of new batteries of the Tor-M2 air defense system in the country

Batteries of Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) have arrived in Minsk. This was announced on November 25 by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

"The next batteries of the Tor-M2 anti—aircraft missile systems have arrived in Belarus," the department's Telegram channel says.

They noted that the arrival of the air defense system is "a vivid example of fruitful military-technical cooperation" between Belarus and the Russian Federation in the framework of improving the unified air defense system.

According to the Ministry, the Tor-M2 is capable of providing effective air defense of designated facilities and performing combat missions in difficult climatic conditions.

In January, it was reported that Belarus and Russia discussed the construction of a joint service center for the repair of air defense systems. This issue was raised at a meeting in the city of Borisov, Minsk region, between enterprises of the State Military Industry of Belarus and a delegation from the Russian Federation, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
