Krasnov stated the need for a tough response to corruption in the judicial system.
Corruption, abuse and distortion of the principles of justice must receive a firm and unequivocal response. This statement was made on November 25 by Igor Krasnov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, at a meeting of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges.
"The board's position regarding those who violate the law, professional ethics or commit acts incompatible with the title of judge should remain fundamental," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The Head of the Supreme Court noted the importance of creating conditions for a fair selection of young lawyers, many of whom have high professional qualifications and a desire to serve the law. According to him, strict measures are necessary to protect the system, maintain public trust and maintain professional standards at a high level.
On November 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the trust of Russian residents in the state is based on trust in the courts. The Head of State congratulated Krasnov on his appointment and expressed gratitude for protecting the rights of Russians.
On the same day, Krasnov said that Russia needs a uniform judicial practice that ensures law and order and constitutional legality. He stressed that this builds citizens' trust in the law and the country.
