VKKS allowed the arrest of an ex-judge from the Kurgan region

The Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation (HCCC) has agreed to the detention of former judge, chairman of the Yurgamyshsky District Court of the Kurgan region, retired Valery Kozlov. This was reported on November 24 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Kozlov is charged with involvement in the illegal release of a convicted member of the organized crime group "Locomotive". The reason for his release was a fabricated medical report, which was approved by the judge. According to the investigation, this was facilitated by a bribe in the amount of 800 thousand rubles, transferred by the prisoner's relatives through an intermediary. After the man was back in the dock, the court's decision was overturned, and he was returned to a maximum-security colony.

On September 30, Kozlov was charged with four crimes and faces up to 12 years in prison. At the same time, he himself claims that his involvement is confirmed only by the testimony of the defendants.
