Putin sent condolences to the Vietnamese leadership due to the consequences of the flood

Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent condolences to the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Toh Lam and President Luong Kyong in connection with the consequences of flooding in the central regions of the republic. This was announced on November 24 by the Kremlin's press service.

"Dear Comrade To Lam, dear Comrade Luong Kyong, please accept my sincere condolences in connection with the tragic consequences of the flooding in the central regions of your country," the telegram says on the Kremlin's website.

The Head of State asked the Vietnamese leadership to convey his words of support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to all those injured.

On November 20, the Vietnam news portal reported the deaths of more than 40 people and dozens missing in the central provinces of Vietnam as a result of floods, river flooding and landslides after prolonged heavy rains. Later, on November 22, the Reuters news agency reported that the greatest damage was caused by flooding in the provinces of Daklak, Khanh Hoa and Zialai, where more than 200 thousand houses, schools, medical institutions and administrative buildings were destroyed and damaged. Economic losses, according to preliminary information, were estimated at 9 trillion DONG (over $340 million).

The VnExpress newspaper reported on November 23 that the death toll from the floods in Vietnam exceeded 90 people, 12 more are missing. According to the newspaper, the rains began to weaken, but some areas remained flooded, and hundreds of families continued to experience difficulties - floods damaged more than 1.1 thousand houses.
