The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has significant development potential, which clearly shows the growth of trade between the participating countries. This was stated on November 23 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

According to the head of government, the expansion of the number of states wishing to join the organization's work confirms the high interest in the SCO.

"Today, the volume of trade of the SCO member states and the accession to the organization of a very large number of observer countries, those who would like to cooperate, assures that the SCO has a very good future," Mishustin said.

He stressed that the role of the association is especially important in conditions of constant economic pressure. According to the Prime Minister, the countries are primarily focused on the economic agenda, but they discuss current challenges in an open and friendly format.

Prior to that, on November 18, at a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, Mishustin announced areas for cooperation between the SCO member states. Special emphasis will be placed on cooperation in the fields of culture, energy, artificial intelligence, innovation, scientific research, digital economy, healthcare and other aspects.
