On November 23, Russian Pittsburgh forward Evgeni Malkin rose to 27th place in the list of the best scorers in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL) following the results of the regular championships.

In the match with Seattle, which ended in a 2-3 defeat to Pittsburgh, Malkin provided an assist, which allowed him to score the 1370th point of his career and beat Canadian Johnny Butsik (1369 points).

The Russian hockey player has 520 goals and 850 assists in regular NHL championships. American Mike Modano was next in the list of top scorers with 1,374 points. Canadian Wayne Gretzky remains the leader in this indicator (2,857 points).

Malkin has scored 24 points this season, scoring six goals and providing 18 assists. In the same match, Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby scored a goal and made an assist, becoming the sixth player in league history to play 500 games with two or more points.

Earlier in the day, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New Jersey Devils at home with a score of 6:3. In the first period, the Flyers scored three goals in 26 seconds, which is the fifth fastest such result in the history of the league.
