Alan Marzaev, former Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Bashkirian government, drank coffee while listening to the verdict of guilty in the bribery case, and applauded after the court decision was announced. This was announced on November 21 by a correspondent of the RIA Novosti news agency, who was in the courtroom.
It is specified that during the announcement of the verdict, Marzaev showed no emotion, calmly drank coffee, and when the judge finished reading the verdict, he applauded.
The Leninsky District Court of Ufa sentenced Marzaev to 13 years in a high-security penal colony and a fine of 561 million rubles. He was also stripped of all honorary titles and state awards of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The court decided to confiscate his real estate, including residential and non-residential buildings, land plots in Bashkiria, Ossetia and Stavropol Territory, as well as several cars, expensive wristwatches, mobile phones and computers. This was reported in the Telegram-regional prosecutor's office.
On November 18, the state prosecution requested 14 years in prison for Marzaev. It was clarified that from December 2023 to April 2024, he received part of a bribe in the amount of more than 37 million rubles from the management of a commercial company. In return, the official promised to help with the conclusion of contracts for work in the field of road construction in Ufa.
