The court sentenced Alan Marzaev, the former acting Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan, to 13 years in a penal colony, who was accused of accepting a bribe. This was reported on November 21 in the press service of the prosecutor's office of the region.
"The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced Marzaev to 13 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high—security penal colony," the department's Telegram channel said.
Among other things, the court imposed a fine of 560 million rubles on Marzaev, as well as the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for 12 years. The court also decided to confiscate more than 37 million rubles illegally obtained to the state's income.
On November 18, the state prosecution requested 14 years in prison for Marzaev. It is specified that Marzaev received part of a bribe in the amount of more than 37 million rubles from the management of a commercial company. In return, the official promised to help with the conclusion of contracts for work in the field of road construction in Ufa.
