Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has begun talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Ankara, during which the situation with the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is being discussed. This was reported on November 19 by the TRT Haber TV channel.

"President Erdogan met Zelensky at the entrance to the Presidential Complex. Erdogan and Zelensky were photographed against the background of Turkish and Ukrainian flags on the stairs <...> then [they] moved on to negotiations," the article says.

During the visit, Zelensky stated that his goal is to intensify the negotiation process and resume the exchange of prisoners.

Prior to that, on November 14, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that the Ukrainian authorities were negotiating in order to gain time for themselves and save themselves in certain positions. She also noted that instead of responding to Moscow's proposals, Kiev blamed the Russian side, hoping for tougher anti-Russian sanctions.
