In response to the closure of the country's Consulate General in Gdansk, Russia will reduce Poland's diplomatic and consular presence in the Russian Federation. This was announced on November 19 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

On the same day, Poland decided to close the last Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Gdansk.

Prior to that, on November 18, Polish Minister of National Defense Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, without any evidence, accused Russia of allegedly involvement in the sabotage recorded in the northeast of his country. Commenting on this information, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on November 18 that Moscow would find it strange that there were no accusations against him.
