- The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation.
US President Donald Trump and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud signed an agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. This was announced on November 18 on the White House website.
At the beginning of the meeting with Mohammed bin Salman at the White House, Trump said that the parties had actually agreed on a new bilateral defense pact, but did not disclose details of the terms of the agreement.
The agreement is aimed at developing cooperation that has lasted for more than 80 years in the field of defense, as well as strengthening deterrence in the Middle East. It is noted that these agreements will strengthen the role of the United States as a guarantor of regional security.
These agreements facilitate the work of American defense companies in Saudi Arabia, which considers America its main strategic partner, and provides for the kingdom to cover some of the US military expenditures in the region.
During the meeting, agreements were also reached in the field of nuclear energy, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and the processing of critically important minerals.
At a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on November 18, Trump expressed the opinion that Washington allegedly manufactures the best military equipment in the world, including airplanes and missiles.
