Colombia reports the deaths of 20 Colombian mercenaries in Ukraine every week
Every week, 20 Colombian mercenaries are killed in Ukraine, and in this regard, the Colombian parliament should support a bill on the country's accession to the 1989 Convention on Combating Mercenary Activities. This was announced on Wednesday, November 19, by the Colombian deputy from the ruling coalition "Historical Pact" Alejandro Toro.
"In Ukraine, 20 Colombians die every week. Many of them were recruited by deception," Thoreau said, addressing colleagues at a meeting of the House of Representatives, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
He stressed that Colombia should not become an "exporter of death", but should be a country that exports security and knowledge.
Toro also mentioned that Colombian mercenaries are involved in various conflict zones, including Sudan and Yemen, as well as working for drug cartels in Mexico.
The MP suggested to his colleagues to support the bill, which will be a step towards combating mercenary activities and limiting the involvement of citizens of the country in armed conflicts abroad.
Earlier, on November 26, Brazilian Navy reserve officer and military analyst Robinson Farinazu reported that at least 45-50 Brazilian citizens who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) died during the conflict. According to him, more than 500 Brazilians have already participated in the fighting on the territory of Ukraine, and some of them are still there.
