- The State Duma proposed to exempt large families from paying for parking throughout Russia
The State Duma proposed to give large families the right to free parking throughout Russia for one car, regardless of the specifics of regional legislation. The bill was developed by deputies of the State Duma from the LDPR faction, the document is sent for conclusion to the government of the Russian Federation, reports TASS on November 18.
The bill assumes that the procedure for granting benefits will be determined by the government. The authors of the initiative believe that the adoption of the bill will reduce the burden on the budget of a large family and ensure equal guarantees for them throughout the country.
As noted by LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky, the practice of exempting large families from paying for city parking is in effect in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but in most regions of the country there are no such benefits. He pointed out that the number of large families in the country has already exceeded 2.5 million, and most of them live outside the two capitals. In his opinion, this measure, among other things, helps to strengthen the institution of the family.
Earlier, on October 29, the State Duma proposed to oblige the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation to establish in the regional standards of urban planning the minimum allowable proportion of parking spaces equipped with chargers for electric vehicles.
