In some situations, early closure of a loan may be unprofitable, so it is necessary to assess all the consequences before making a decision. Evelina Gomonko, an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics of the RUDN University, told the Prime news agency on November 18.

According to her, it's not worth rushing to repay if the loan is issued on preferential terms at a lower-than-market rate, for example, as part of a family mortgage.

"Think about whether you will have another opportunity to apply for a loan on preferential terms. Therefore, if there are available funds that you have decided to send for early repayment, and several loans have been opened, then you should start by paying off the more "expensive ones," Gomonko said.
