The Romanian authorities decided to evacuate the residents of the village of Plauru, located opposite the Ukrainian Izmail on the other bank of the Danube. This was reported on November 17 by the Euractiv news website.

The article clarifies that the reason for the decision was a drone attack in southern Ukraine, after which a ship transporting liquefied petroleum gas caught fire.

"Due to the proximity of the ship to Romanian territory and the nature of its cargo, the authorities ordered the evacuation of the village of Plauru, located on the other side of the Danube from the Ukrainian port city of Izmail," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, the evacuation was carried out as a preventive measure after a ship carrying liquefied petroleum gas caught fire as a result of a drone attack in southern Ukraine. Warnings were sent to residents on their mobile phones about the risk of unknown objects falling, and road and sea traffic was temporarily blocked in the area of the incident.

On March 31, a highway was blocked in Romania due to a sulfuric acid leak and people were evacuated. It was noted that the leak occurred through the central valve of the tanker truck. Specialists who prevent chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats were involved to eliminate the consequences.
