Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, sent a submission to the Higher Qualification Board of Judges asking for consent to initiate a criminal case on a particularly large bribe against Olga Petrova, a judge of the Leninsky District Court of Kursk. "Consideration of the submission of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to consent to the initiation of criminal proceedings against Olga Petrova Vladimirovna Petrova, Deputy Chairman of the Leninsky District Court of Kursk, on the grounds of a crime under part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the document says.
It is specified that the review will take place on Monday, November 24, at 14:00 Moscow time.
In addition, Bastrykin applied for permission to initiate proceedings against a retired justice of the peace from Nalchik, Mukhamed Tembotov. He is scheduled to be charged with receiving five large bribes and one small one.
On November 11, the Second Western District Military Court announced the sentencing of Vladimir Verteletsky, former head of the Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense for ensuring the state defense order, to 10 years in a penal colony for accepting bribes and abuse of office.
