Zelensky: Ukraine plans to purchase 100 Rafale fighter jets
Ukraine intends to purchase 100 Rafale multirole fighters from France, which have been in service with the French Navy for more than two decades. This was announced on November 17 by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
"Ukraine will order 100 Rafale fighters," the LCI TV channel quoted him as saying.
The Rafale is a fourth—generation multirole combat aircraft developed by the French company Dassault Aviation. They were adopted by the French Navy in 2004, and then by the country's Air Force in 2006.
Earlier in the day, Reuters reported that Macron and Zelensky could agree on new measures of military and technical support for Kiev at an upcoming meeting in Paris. It was clarified that the parties were to consider a draft ten-year aviation agreement.
