Pensioners were warned about the risk of losing additional payments due to the lack of a statement.

Some pension payments in Russia are still not assigned automatically, and citizens may lose them due to carelessness. This was announced on November 17 by Valery Tumin, a member of the Expert Council on the Development of the Digital Economy under the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy.

According to him, starting in 2025, part of the surcharges, including 1.2 thousand rubles for citizens over 80 years of age and the disabled of group I, will be indexed automatically, as well as the social supplement to the subsistence minimum, the "northern" coefficients for relocation and the supplement for rural service.

However, Tumin noted, there is a list of payments that are available only after submitting an application. These include additional payments for dependents (up to 2,969 rubles for each disabled family member), as well as subsidies for housing and communal services if utility costs exceed the established regional norm.

"The same applies to subsidies for housing and communal services: they are given if the cost of utilities exceeds the regional threshold. This is usually 22% of the family's income, but in Moscow, for example, from 3 to 10%," he explained to the Prime agency.

A one-time payment of the funded part of the pension is also required if the lifetime amount does not exceed 1,525 rubles per month. To check all possible support measures, the expert recommends using the Public Services portal, the website of the local administration, the EGISSO service, and, if necessary, contact the MFC or the client centers of the Social Fund.

Tumin recalled that the regions set their own benefits: in St. Petersburg there is a 50% discount on utilities for residents with long work experience, single pensioners in Moscow are exempt from fees for garbage collection, and in the Moscow region there is compensation of up to 80 thousand rubles for the installation of gas equipment. Since 2024, the commission for housing and communal services has been abolished for all beneficiaries, which also provides small savings.

It's hard: the gap between the pensions of the employed and the unemployed has reached a minimum since 2021.

When will the payments be equal and what does this mean for the economy?

Earlier, on November 16, it was reported that citizens can significantly increase the amount of their future pension if they postpone its registration. According to deputies, a five-year deferral increases pension coefficients and the fixed part by almost half, and with a 10-year deferral, the amount of payment may more than double. At the same time, during the deferral period, a citizen receives only a salary, without accruing a pension.
