In the United States, a woman and a 10-year-old boy were killed in a shooting.

Two people were killed, including a 10-year—old child, and three others were injured in a mass shooting in Newark, New Jersey. This was reported on November 16 by the New York Post (NYP).

It is noted that an unknown person opened fire at about 19:00 local time on Saturday, November 15 (03:00 Moscow time on November 16). According to the prosecutor's office, a 21-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy died of their injuries in hospital. An 11-year-old boy and two men, aged 19 and 60, were also injured. Their condition is assessed as stable.

"Our city mourns the <...> brutal and senseless murder of a 21-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, who were taken from their parents when their young lives were just blossoming," said Newark Mayor Ras Baraka.

He called on the shooter to voluntarily surrender and promised the full cooperation of the authorities in investigating the incident.

According to police, the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Chancellor Avenue. Law enforcement officers found at least 17 shell casings on the spot.
