Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a separate meeting with Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin. This was reported on November 16 by the Rossiya-1 TV channel.

It is specified that the Russian leader spoke with Sechin on Wednesday, November 12, during events dedicated to the visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Russia. On the same day, Russia and Kazakhstan held talks in an expanded format, and Sechin was one of the members of the delegation.

At the meeting with Putin, Tokayev called the scale of cooperation between the two countries unique. He noted significant successes in trade and economic cooperation, and also highlighted the prospects for cooperation in the nuclear industry.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Tokayev's visit to Russia powerful in terms of meaning. He also noted that in order to discuss the abundance of issues facing the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan on the agenda, it was necessary to assemble the full cabinet of ministers from both sides.

Prior to that, on November 12, Putin and Tokayev signed a declaration on the transition of relations between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. The document signing ceremony was held after negotiations.
