Russian mixed martial artist Islam Makhachev defeated Australian Jackie Della Maddalena on November 16 and won the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title.

The UFC 322 tournament was held in New York. The match ended with a unanimous decision of the judges after five rounds. Makhachev is 34 years old, he now has 28 wins and one loss in MMA. The Russian has a winning streak of 16 fights, the only defeat he suffered in a fight with Brazilian Adrian Martins in October 2015.
