The Russian government will allocate more than 1.4 billion rubles to compensate airlines providing reduced fares on interregional routes. This was announced on November 13 by the country's Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, opening a government meeting.

"Today, we will allocate more than 1.4 billion rubles to compensate airlines for the reduced fare. But of course we will continue to provide services to attract tickets at reasonable prices," Mishustin said.

According to him, the support of the program of preferential flights between regions is of high social importance and is under constant control of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Mishustin noted that Russia has about 80 subsidized air routes between major cities of the country.

The right to discounted tickets is available for citizens under the age of 23, pensioners, group I disabled people, children with disabilities, as well as for large families.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Ministry of Transport announced plans to transfer 1.4 billion rubles to Kaliningrad for discounted flights. It is noted that more than 400 thousand people used preferential tariffs in 2025. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation recalled the existence of two preferential flight programs.
