Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski called the Baltic Sea an internal sea of NATO
In recent years, the Baltic Sea has allegedly practically become an internal sea of NATO. This was announced on November 13 by the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski.
"In recent years, the Baltic Sea has actually become an internal sea of the Alliance after Finland and Sweden joined NATO," he said at the conference "Baltic Sea Security — the common Responsibility of Democratic states."
According to him, Russia also continues to be active in the same waters. Sikorsky noted that Moscow is allegedly behaving hostilely towards Europe and the West, pointing to actions such as interference with shipping.
On November 8, the multinational NATO anti-submarine naval exercises started in the Baltic Sea. It was noted that the exercises called Merlin took place along the coast of Sweden and in its territorial waters.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on October 21 that NATO exercises are always at the center of attention of the Russian military. He clarified that the Russian Federation is carefully analyzing the plots and intentions of such exercises.
