The US Army is destroying boats off the coast of Venezuela using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported on November 12 by CNN, citing sources.

"The US military conducted an operation against suspected drug trafficking vessels in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean using various drones, helicopter gunships and fighter jets," the publication says.

According to the channel's interlocutors, most of the attacks are carried out using MQ-9 Reaper attack drones. In addition, manned aircraft are involved in the operations, including AC-130J fire support aircraft and fighter jets.

At the same time, the Pentagon has not yet officially confirmed which types of aircraft and equipment are used for strikes.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on October 31 that the United States intends to strike targets in Venezuela, which, according to Washington, are used for drug trafficking. It was noted that the potential air operation would focus on facilities located "in the zone of influence of drug cartels" and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

On October 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that Russia continues to support the Venezuelan leadership in protecting national sovereignty and is ready to respond to possible threats. Zakharova also stressed that the two countries will continue to work together "shoulder to shoulder."
