The improvised explosive device that detonated in Krasnogorsk and injured a 10-year-old boy had a capacity of about 10 grams of TNT. This was announced on November 12 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

According to the representative of the department, a thorough inspection was carried out at the scene, during which fragments of an explosive device were seized.

"The mass of which is about 10 grams in TNT equivalent," Petrenko said.

A complex of examinations is being carried out on the fact of the incident, including molecular genetic, fingerprint and explosive testing.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region had opened a criminal case on attempted murder. According to the investigation, the night before the boy noticed an unidentified explosive device disguised as a gift package on the ground near an apartment building. A 10-ruble bill was attached to it. As an eyewitness of the emergency told Izvestia, the explosive device was a bundle of ten-ruble bills wrapped in a tube and tied with a red gift ribbon.
