The court of Rostov-on-Don arrested two employees of the Almaz defense enterprise
The Pervomaisky court of Rostov-on-Don has arrested for two months the director of commercial activities and the chief accountant of the Almaz defense enterprise, suspected of abuse of office. This was announced on November 10 by a representative of the joint press service of the courts of the region.
"By court decisions, Vereshchagina, chief accountant of Almaz JSC, and Kolesnikov, Director of Commercial Activities of Almaz JSC, were given a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months, until January 5, 2026," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
According to investigators, in 2021, both managers organized fictitious deliveries of non-existent inhalers through a controlled counterparty to receive bonuses for meeting targets. After that, they staged the return and destruction of "inoperable" products. As a result of the criminal scheme, about 14 million rubles were written off from the company's accounts.
As part of the criminal case under the article on abuse of authority, searches were conducted at the place of work and residence of the defendants.
According to the information on the company's website, Almaz specializes in the production of integrated communication systems and medical equipment. The company's customers include defense and industrial enterprises. It is worth noting that not a single employee of the company is listed in the "Management" section.
Earlier, on October 24, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on abuse of office against the former head of the Rostov-on-Don city administration, Alexei Logvinenko. It was clarified that, contrary to the requirements of budget legislation, he had attracted a loan from a commercial bank. As a result of his illegal actions, the city's budget suffered damage in the amount of more than 47 million rubles.
