Peskov: Moscow wants the conflict in Ukraine to end as soon as possible
Moscow wants to end the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible. This was announced on November 10 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Of course, we would like this conflict to end as soon as possible. And it can end when Russia reaches the goals that it set initially," Peskov said.
He noted that Moscow is still ready for a political and diplomatic settlement and has repeatedly stated its openness to dialogue. However, according to him, Kiev is not ready for negotiations.
"Our interlocutors [Ukraine] do not want to continue the conversation, they are being provoked in every possible way by the Europeans, who believe that Ukraine can win," he said.
On November 7, US President Donald Trump announced that "significant progress" had been made in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on October 26 that Moscow shares the position of the US president, who after the summit in Alaska called one of the issues of the Ukrainian settlement particularly important, but quite solvable.
