Peskov called the undeniable Russian affiliation of the Kurils

The territorial affiliation of the Kuril Islands to Russia is absolutely obvious and should not be in doubt. This was announced on November 10 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the reaction in Japan to the statement by the local minister for Okinawa and the "northern territories."

According to him, the Kremlin drew attention to publications in the Japanese media about the "scandal" that arose after the minister called the southern part of the Kuril Islands foreign territories.

Peskov stressed that this incident relates to Japan's domestic policy.

"You know, the territorial affiliation of these islands should not be in doubt," Peskov said at a briefing.
