Lithuanian trucks that are stuck on the border in Belarus will be moved to a special parking lot near the Kotlovka checkpoint. This was reported on November 10 in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

"The Belarusian side has decided to move them to specially equipped parking areas near the Kotlovka checkpoint," BelTA news agency quoted the statement as saying.

The ministry explained that after the unilateral decision of the Lithuanian authorities to close a number of border checkpoints on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, more than 1.1 thousand trucks of Lithuanian carriers accumulated in the country.

It is specified that the decision on the special parking lot was made to ensure the safety and security of vehicles located mainly at the entrances to the Kamenny Log and Benyakoni points.

The day before, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus expressed hope for the resumption of normal functioning of automobile checkpoints located on the border with Lithuania.

The Lithuanian government decided to completely close the borders with Belarus for a period of one month on October 29. It later became known that because of this decree, about 5,000 Lithuanian trucks were blocked on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, which, as the State Customs Committee of Belarus informed on November 1, would be able to return only after the borders were opened.

On November 5, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginene called on Minsk to open the borders and allow Lithuanian trucks to leave the territory, while reopening the checkpoint will not be discussed.
