The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have thwarted eight attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to break out of the encirclement near Pokrovsk. This was announced on November 9 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Eight attempts by the enemy to break out of the encirclement in the northern direction were thwarted, three servicemen of the 32nd mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were captured," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces were also able to repel seven attacks by Ukrainian formations in the area of the Grishino settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in order to unblock the grouping of the Ukrainian military.

The Defense Ministry added that air defense systems shot down a long-range guided missile "Neptune", seven multiple rocket launchers HIMARS made in the United States and 247 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The day before, the commander of the assault detachment of the 121st Motorized Rifle regiment with the call sign Lavrik reported that the Russian military had destroyed 10 Ukrainian militants who were trying to hold their positions in the west of Kupyansk.
