Russian basketball player Daniil Kasatkin will not challenge the court's decision to extradite him to the United States. This was announced on November 8 by his lawyer Frederic Belo.

"Daniil Kasatkin has decided not to appeal. He believes that the investigative chamber was biased against him. He believes that in the current political conditions he has no chance in the Court of cassation," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Kasatkin's lawyer, his client insists on his innocence and does not understand the reasons for France's desire to extradite him.

"He is waiting for the decision of the French Prime Minister and counts on the support of his country, Russia, which is his last hope in the face of the uncertainty of extradition to the United States," Belo added.

Basketball player Kasatkin was detained at the request of the American side in July. According to lawyer Frederic Belo, the Russian is probably accused of extortion due to the use of his computer by intruders. On August 27, Kasatkin's request for release under judicial supervision was rejected.

On October 29, the Paris court decided to extradite Kasatkin to the United States. In turn, the Russian Embassy condemned the French decision.
